Petition filed at Supreme Court demanding legal recognition to cryptocurrency

KATHMANDU, August 18: A writ petition has been filed at the Supreme Court, demanding the recognition of the digital currency cryptocurrency in Nepal as well.



On Thursday, a petition was registered at the Supreme Court demanding that Nepal Rastra Bank's decision not to give legal recognition to digital currencies including crypto be annulled.

Advocate Sagar Baral's group filed the petition at the apex court. The Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers, Nepal Rastra Bank, Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs, Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Home Affairs, and the Nepal Police Police Headquarters have been made the defendants in the case.
