They were arrested on the charge of stealing 61 tolas of gold from Surjit Sarkar of West Bengal, India on 20 March, 2019 in Kamalamai Municipality-6 of Sindhuli district. Earlier, the case was looked into by Sindhuli court but it was transferred to the Patan High Court.

All the messages, call details and evidence provided to the Patan High Court didn’t have any evidence on Diyali’s involvement in the gold theft. The term used as mission success was for the PUBG game played by all the five people together and their call details didn't even have anything suspicious according to the court. The main evidence came from the people who saw them playing holi as it was holi on that day.
