Passengers forced to pay higher fares for charter flights are requested to complain with documentary evidence

KATHMANDU, Jan 28: The Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation has requested the victims who were forced to pay more than the stipulated fares for charter flights to submit an email to the probe committee within seven days along with the official documents.

KATHMANDU, Jan 28: The Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation has requested the victims who were forced to pay more than the stipulated fares for charter flights to submit an email to the probe committee within seven days along with the official documents.



The ministry in a statement asked passengers who were forced to pay higher fares for charter flights during the first wave of COVID-19 to send their complaints to the ministry's official email address [email protected].

International passenger charter flights were arranged to facilitate the repatriation of stranded people after the Government of Nepal announced a nationwide lockdown to contain further spread of the COVID-19. 


The MoCTCA had formed the Air Fare Investigation Committee, 2078 BS to address the various complaints received that airlines had charged more than the airfare approved by Civil Aviation AUthority of Nepal (CAAN). 


The ministry also said that a re-investigation committee has been formed in the ministry to seek clarification from the concerned bodies on the issues recommended by the committee for further investigation.
