Over 16 quintals of marijuana seized in Sarlahi

RAUTAHAT, June 7: A large amount of illegal marijuana has been seized in Sarlahi district. A team from Nepal Police and Armed Police Force (APF) seized over 16 quintals of marijuana in the district.

RAUTAHAT, June 7: A large amount of illegal marijuana has been seized in Sarlahi district. A team from Nepal Police and Armed Police Force (APF) seized over 16 quintals of marijuana in the district.



According to police, marijuana was found during a search operation inside a tin drum and a plastic sack inside a house in Langur Danda, Lalbandi. Similarly, a marijuana processing equipment was also found about 100 meters away from the house, police added.

This marks the first instance of such a large quantity of marijuana being seized in Madhesh Province, according to the police.


A joint team comprising 125 members, including 80 from the Nepal Police and 45 from the APF, was deployed in the operation to recover the contraband. The District Police Office, Sarlahi, stated that the exact location of the house has not been disclosed and an investigation is underway into the case.
