Opposition parties stick to NC’s demands

KATHMANDU, May 17: The opposition parties in the House of Representatives have decided to support the demands raised by the Nepali Congress (NC).



During a meeting held at the Parliament House in New Baneshwor, the opposition parties decided to stick to the NC's demands. A meeting of top leaders, organized by the Nepali Congress on Friday, called for the formation of a parliamentary probe committee.

Additionally, the meeting decided to draw the attention of the Speaker to yesterday's incident.


The NC has been demanding the formation of a parliamentary probe committee to investigate Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Rabi Lamichhane’s alleged involvement in the misappropriation of cooperative funds. The party has been consistently obstructing parliamentary proceedings. Tensions escalated yesterday, resulting in a tussle among ruling and opposition MPs.
