KATHMANDU, Jan 8: Nine Opposition parties including the main opposition, CPN-UML, have decided to obstruct Sunday’s meeting of parliament if the government tables the constitution amendment bill. The government is preparing to table the bill at today’s House meeting.

Chairman of Nepal Pariwar Dal, Eknath Dhakal, told Republica Online that the meeting of the parties held at the UML’s Parliamentary Party Office, Singha Durbar agreed not to let the government present the bill at any cost.

The meeting, however, decided to support election-related bills, if tabled.

“The meeting decided to support the poll-related bills and hinder tabling of the constitution amendment bill at any cost,” said Dhakal, “The government should withdraw the amendment bill respecting the Supreme Court’s ruling.”
