KATHMANDU, Sep 7: Police on Sunday arrested an individual on the charge of issuing death threats to the mayor of Lalitpur Metropolitan City.
A team of police from the Metropolitan Police Crime Division arrested Sanjay Shaka, 43, of Lalitpur-13 on the charge of issuing death threats to Mayor Chiri Babu Maharjan. He had issued the threats through a YouTube video.

After the clash between police and the locals in Patan in the course of the chariot-pulling procession of Rato Macchindranath Jatra a few days ago, Shakya in a YouTube interview had said that he would cut the throat of Mayor Maharjan.
According to police, Shakya has been sent to the Lalitpur Metropolitan Police Range for further investigations into allegations against him.
