Ranveer Singh’s name was recently associated with a movie based on India’s iconic superhero ‘Shaktimaan’ and now, buzz suggests that Om Raut may call the shots for this action entertainer. Ranveer is reportedly keen to step into the legendary role, which was played by Mukesh Khanna in the popular TV show, but he is yet to sign on the dotted line.

According to a news portal, Om Raut has been approached to direct Ranveer as Pandit Gangadhar Vidyadhar Mayadhar Omkarnath Shastri aka ‘Shaktimaan’. In the past Om Raut has called the shots for Ajay Devgan starrer historical drama ‘Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior’ and is currently working on ‘Adipurush’, a narrative based on Lord Ram. If reports are to be believed then Om Raut will start work on the VFX-heavy ‘Shaktimaan’ after ‘Adipurush’.
Om Raut’s ‘Adipurush’ is a much awaited film, starring Prabhas, Saif Ali Khan, Kriti Sanon and Sunny Singh in lead roles. Speaking about the film, Om Raut had previously told ETimes, “Saif and Prabhas have undergone a remarkable physical transformation and there is massive action involved too. There is a lot of physical transformation that Prabhas has undergone from an artist's point of view and he continues to work on it even now as we shoot. With Saif Ali Khan, it is evident in the pictures, but I cannot reveal much.” The makers are planning to release this film on January 12, 2023.
