KATHMANDU, Aug 4: Outgoing Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli moved back to his home at Balkot, Bhaktapur from the prime minister's official residence at Baluwatar on Wednesday after CPN (Maoist-Center) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal was elected as head of the government in parliament Wednesday afternoon.
According to his press coordinator Chetan Adhikari, Oli returned to Balkot directly from the parliament building at New Baneshwar after the House elected Dahal as the new prime minister.

“As we had already known about today's result since the last few days, we had made all preparations for shifting the prime minister's residence,” Adhikari told Republica. “We had completed shifting all his belongings to Balkot by Wednesday morning.”
Adhikari said Oli was welcomed by a large number of party workers and he thanked them for their support during his nine-month tenure in the government.
Issuing a press statement Wednesday Morning, Oli's press advisor Pramod Dahal informed that Oli had left the official residence. Oli also planted a peepal tree [sacred fig] at Baluwatar before leaving. “PM Oli also thanked the officials, security personnel and other staffers and assistants working at the residence for their care and support for the last nine months,” the statement reads.
Meanwhile, the outgoing Minister for Industry Som Prasad Pandey returned the government vehicle Wednesday and shifted to his private residence at Baneshwar from the ministerial quarters at Pulchowk.
