No stubbornness on constitution amendment, please: DPM Nidhi to opposition parties

KATHMANDU, Jan 14: Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Bimalendra Nidhi on Saturday urged opposition parties not to be stubborn on the constitution amendment proposed in a bid to increase the acceptability of the constitution.

KATHMANDU, Jan 14: Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Bimalendra Nidhi on Saturday urged opposition parties not to be stubborn on the constitution amendment proposed in a bid to increase the acceptability of the constitution. 



DPM Nidhi said rights of people of different languages and from various communities would be ensured by correcting any shortcomings (if any) in the constitution of the Federal Democratic Republic promulgated from the Constituent Assembly. 



He was inaugurating Maghi festival, the national festival of Tharu community, organized by Tharu Kalyankarini Kathmandu in the Capital. 



Saying all agreements struck with the United Democratic Madhesi Front in the past would be met, he also said the government wanted to deal with the current political problems in consultations with all political parties and communities. 



Also on the occasion, coordinator of the Tharu Kalyankarini Kathmandu valley committee Satya Narayan Chaudhary informed about interrelations between Maghesankranti and Tharu community. 



Stalls set up at the festival had showcased clothes and dishes of Tharu community while dances showing art and culture of the community were performed. RSS
