CHITWAN, Dec 17: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal has claimed that no agreement has been reached on holding local polls under the existing structures of VDCs and municipalities.

He added that the government is for holding the polls under the new structures.

“Chiefs of the three major parties had discussed the polls. Nepali Congress (NC) President Sher Bahadur Deuba had proposed holding the polls under the existing structures. UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli had then accepted the idea,” said PM Dahal, “But, we have not forged any agreement on the polls.”

He retreated that the government has no plans to withdraw the constitution amendment bill.
