NMB Bank celebrates World Environment Day

KATHMANDU, June 6: NMB Bank has said that it organized a series of programs across the country to mark World Environment Day 2019. Issuing a statement, the commercial bank said that it installed 50,000 grid-tie solar roof top system with net metering at its head office in Kathmandu.

KATHMANDU, June 6: NMB Bank has said that it organized a series of programs across the country to mark World Environment Day 2019. Issuing a statement, the commercial bank said that it installed 50,000 grid-tie solar roof top system with net metering at its head office in Kathmandu.



According to the bank, the solar energy system is expected to cover 70 percent of its electricity consumption. The system was jointly inaugurated by the bank's CEO Sunil KC and Madhusudan Adhikari, executive director of Alternative Energy Promotion Center.

Further, NMB launched a new scheme for financing bicycles on EMI through NMB VISA Cards to encourage bicycle usage for environmental benefits.


Similarly, the bank also undertook plantation of 100 saplings at Kageshwari Manohara Municipality in Kathmandu. Similar plantation programs were organized in branch offices across the country in cooperation with local units, according to the statement.
