New DIGs presented insignia

KATHMANDU, April 21: Newly-promoted Deputy Inspector Generals (DIGs) of Nepal Police were conferred with insignia on Thursday.

KATHMANDU, April 21: Newly-promoted Deputy Inspector Generals (DIGs) of Nepal Police were conferred with insignia on Thursday.



Inspector General of Police (IGP) Basant Bahadur Kunwar presented the insignia to the new DIGs. They are Kuber Kadayat, Kedar Dhakal, Bishnu Kumar KC, Bharat Bahadur Bohara, Rabindra KC, Rajesh Nath Banstola, Chandra Kuber Khapung, Janak Bhattarai, Lalmani Acharya, Surendra Prasad Mainali, Arjun Chand Thakuri, Yagya Binod Pokhrel and Bikasraj Khanal.  A meeting of the Council of Ministers on April 11 decided to promote Senior Superintendent of Police to the DIGs.

On the occasion, Police Chief Kunwar said the Home Ministry and the police leadership were committed to further reforming and strengthening the police institution, urging the entire police mechanism to perform and deliver more efficiently.


"It is inexcusable if any police employee is found indulging in unprofessional business," he warned, stressing that police employees should act aggressively against smuggling, cross-border crime and the revenue leakage.


Giving his views on behalf of the promoted batch, DIG Kadayat pledged to do their level best for the enhancement of the institutional image.
