KATHMANDU, Oct 15: Newly-appointed Minister for Communication and Information Technology, Parbat Gurung assumed office on Thursday.

In a recent Cabinet reshuffle, Gurung who earlier held the portfolio of the Ministry of Children and Senior Citizens was named the new Minister for Information and Communications which had been lying vacant after the then minister Yuba Raj Khatiwada resigned on September 4.
Gurung was inducted into the Oli-led Cabinet on November 20, 2019, replacing the then Minister Tham Maya Thapa.
