Nepali movie ‘Bulbul’ to represent Nepal in 92nd Academy Awards

Nepali movie ‘Bulbul’ featuring Swastima Khadka has been selected to represent Nepal in 92nd Academy Awards. According to a press statement released by Academy Awards (The Oscars), International Feature Film Selection Committee (Nepal), Academy Of Motion Pictures and Arts allocated certain requirements for a movie to become a participant of 92nd academy awards. After fulfilling the requirements, Nepali movie ‘Bulbul’ will be seen as the representative for Nepali movie in the award.

Nepali movie ‘Bulbul’ featuring Swastima Khadka has been selected to represent Nepal in 92nd Academy Awards. According to a press statement released by Academy Awards (The Oscars), International Feature Film Selection Committee (Nepal), Academy Of Motion Pictures and Arts allocated certain requirements for a movie to become a participant of 92nd academy awards. After fulfilling the requirements, Nepali movie ‘Bulbul’ will be seen as the representative for Nepali movie in the award.

As per the requirements mentioned, any movie released from October 9, 2019, to August 30 could participate in the award ceremony. After a meeting of the committee members, ‘Bulbul’ was finalized as it was the only movie to have registered during the allocated time.


On October 9, 2020 ‘Bulbul’ will be featured under the category of International Feature Film at 92nd Oscar Awards in Dolby Theatre, Los Angeles.
