KATHMANDU, Nov 10: Nepal will host the next edition of Asian Youth and Junior Weightlifting Championship from July 21 to 30, according to Nepal Weightlifting Association (NWA). The executive meeting of the Asian Weightlifting Federatiom (AWF) held on Wednesday in Tokyo, Japan, decided to give the hosting rights of the events to Nepal.
Nepal had presented its bid to organize youth, junior and senior weightlifting championships. However, the AWF provided hosting rights of senior championship to South Korea.
Earlier in 2015, Nepal was given the responsibility of hosting the senior championship but the April earthquake forced the organizer to shift the event to Thailand.
