Nepal requests Japan for assistance in waste management

KATHMANDU, Sept 2: Nepali Ambassador to Japan, Dr Durga Bahadur Subedi paid a courtesy call on Japanese Parliamentary Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs Takagi Kei on Wednesday.

KATHMANDU, Sept 2: Nepali Ambassador to Japan, Dr Durga Bahadur Subedi paid a courtesy call on Japanese Parliamentary Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs Takagi Kei on Wednesday.



Ambassador Dr Subedi stated that the promotion of bilateral trade, investment, employment and Nepal's tourism in Japan is his top priority and requested Japanese assistance in the field of disaster management and waste management.

Similarly, Ambassador Subedi mentioned that there are more than 100,000 Nepali citizens living in Japan and said that he is committed to further strengthening people-to-people relations between the two countries. He emphasized the need for exchange of bilateral high-level visits and also requested Minister Kei to visit Nepal.


During the meeting, Japanese Minister Kei said that he was happy to welcome an experienced and senior diplomat as ambassador to Japan and wished him a successful tenure. Minister Kei stated that there is close friendship between Nepal and Japan and promised that the Japanese government will continue to support Nepal, which is a developing country, to upgrade it to a middle-income country.
