KATHMANDU, May 18: Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) has advanced the construction process of the Butwal-Lamahi 400 KV transmission line.
The NEA is doing preparatory work before the construction. Preparations for an Initial Environmental Examination (IEE) report have reached the final stage, it is said.

At present, a company is working on the report. The authority has been requested to submit written/opinion suggestions within seven days if there is any adverse effect during the construction and operation of the project.
This transmission line passes through Sunwal Municipality of West Nawalparasi, Devdaha Municipality of Rupandehi, Butwal Sub-Metropolitan City and SainaMaina Municipality, Baanganga, Buddhabhumi and Shivaraj municipalities of Kapilvastu, Sitganga Municipality of Arghakhanchi and Garhwa, Rapti Rural Municipality and Lamhi Municipality of Dang.
The proposed project is a 400 KV double circuit transmission line which has a length of 160 km. It starts from New Butwal Substation (Bhumhi) in Nawalparasi Susta West District and ends at Lamhi Substation in Dang via the Motipur Substation in Rupandehi and Kapilvastu, Arghakhanchi.
