NC to carry constitution amendment and election côté à côté

KATHMANDU, March 14: Nepali Congress has decided to carry the constitution amendment process and election simultaneously.

KATHMANDU, March 14: Nepali Congress has decided to carry the constitution amendment process and election simultaneously.  



The meeting comprised of officials, former officials and top leaders,decided to this effect on Tuesday. Party President Sher Bahadur Deuba, top leaders Ram Chandra Paudel and Farmullah Mansur among others attended the meeting this morning held at the parliamentary party office in Singha Durbar.

The leaders discussed the 5-point memorandum presented by the United Democratic Madheshi Front (UDMF) along with their ultimatum given to the government during the meeting. 


The meeting focused on the strategies to convince the UDMF for their participation in the election,  the leaders said emerging from the meeting. 


The meeting concluded that the government should take the initiation to forward the constitution amendment from the Legislature-Parliament and the election concurrently.


The meeting has called the central committee (CC) meeting of the party for March 23. Previously, the meeting of CC was held on November.
