KATHMANDU, Feb 8: A writ petition is being heard today demanding that Nepali Congress (NC), the opposition party and the leader of the NC Parliamentary Party (PP), Sher Bahadur Deuba, should not be given the privilege of being the leader of the main opposition party.

Advocate Bimal Prasad Pokharel filed the writ petition against the Parliament Secretariat. Earlier, Prem Suwal, a member of parliament from Nepal Workers’ Peasants Party, which did not support the government, had demanded that his party be declared the main opposition party and provided with perks and facilities accordingly.
