NC President Deuba worried about delay in reconstruction of Gorkha Palace

GORKHA, June 9: Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba on Sunday expressed his concern about a delay in the reconstruction of historic Gorkha Palace destroyed by the earthquake of 2015.

GORKHA, June 9: Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba on Sunday expressed his concern about a delay in the reconstruction of historic Gorkha Palace destroyed by the earthquake of 2015.

The NC president was concerned about the matter in course of his observation of the palace while he reached Gorkha district to attend the second conference of the Gorkha town committee of the NC. Tourism development of the area has got affected due to a delay in the reconstruction of the palace of religious importance carrying world identification, he said.


"The reconstruction should take place at the earliest. The government put the archeologically important area on development priority." He said the NC would draw the attention of the government to this matter. During his observation, he conducted a puja at Kalika Bhagawati and Guru Gorakhnath temples. He also took stock of inconveniences caused by the destruction of the palace in conducting a regular religious ritual at the palace.
