KATHMANDU, August 30: Gagan Thapa has announced his candidacy for the post of general secretary of the Nepali Congress (NC) in the upcoming 14th general convention of the party.
Addressing an event in Kathmandu on Monday, Thapa maintained that he will be fielding himself in the post of General Secretary of NC in the upcoming 14th general convention.

Thapa had also fielded himself as a candidate for the same post in 13th General Convention of the party. He was, however, defeated by NC General Secretary Dr Shashank Koirala.
The ruling party NC is scheduled to hold its general convention from November 25 to 29 later this year.
