On the occasion, NC Chief Whip Lekhak expressed commitment that the NC would play a role in revising the School Education Bill on the basis of suggestions from the stakeholders.

The Nepal Teachers' Federation had launched a protest in Kathmandu from September 20-22 and the Federation withdrew its protest after signing a six-point deal with the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology. However, relief quota teachers are still in protest saying that their demands have not been addressed. The School Education Bill was registered in the House of Representatives on September 13.
