MPs Basnet and Shrestha, and former IGP Khanal file case at NHRC

KATHMANDU, May 4: Lawmakers of the ruling Nepal Communist Party  Mahesh Basnet and Kisan Shrestha and a former Inspector General of Police Sarbendra Khanal have filed a case against the leaders of Janata Samajwadi Party including lawmaker Dr Surendra Yadav and a former Prime Minister Dr Baburam Bhattarai.

KATHMANDU, May 4: Lawmakers of the ruling Nepal Communist Party,  Mahesh Basnet and Kisan Shrestha and former Inspector General of Police, Sarbendra Khanal  on Monday filed a case against the leaders of Janata Samajwadi Party (JSP) including lawmaker Dr Surendra Yadav and former Prime Minister Dr Baburam Bhattarai at the National Human Rights Commission. 



Basnet, Shrestha and Khanal were accused of abducting MP Yadav by the leaders of Janata Samajwadi Party.

In their nine-page-long application, they claimed that the leaders of JSP have violated their constitutional right to live with dignity by making baseless accusations against them. “Acts by JSP leaders are focused on creating hatred and defaming them [Basnet, Shrestha and Khanal ]  and misleading the facts,"  they said.
