KATHMANDU, July 9: While Home Minister Ram Bahadur Thapa commemorated the deceased laborers of tipper accident and said that the government would provide Rs. 500,000 each to the victim’s family; he skipped talking about Dr. Govinda KC, his demands and Ganga Maya’s quest for justice as he addressed the federal parliament today.

“The government has decided to offer Rs 5000,000 in cash relief to the families of those killed in the tipper accident that occurred at Lhoghakar in Damodarkunda rural municipality in Upper Mustang."

Thapa earlier had slammed KC’s ‘gangster-like’ approach to cripple medical sector of the country by coming up with fast-unto-death hunger strikes.

Thapa, however, had said that the government had no issues raised by KC and that his demands would be addressed in a democratic manner.

"We give due respect to Dr KC's voice, we will seek the resolution to the issue in a democratic manner, nobody is above the law and I urged Dr KC to take into consideration the democratic values," Thapa had said during a special session on July 4.

On Friday, parliamentarian Dilendra Prasad Badu of Nepali Congress had filed a motion of public interest for today. In the event of a motion of public importance, concerned ministers should answer to parliament at the same meeting after brief deliberations. However, while parliamentarians voiced their concerns regarding deteriorating health concerns of KC, the government failed to find its answers.
