Mother kills herself after poisoning two sons in Sarlahi

SARLAHI, Jan 5: In a similar incident, a mother committed suicide after poisoning her two sons on Thursday.



Area Police Office, Barahathawa said that Sabita Pal, 22, killed herself after poisoning her sons—Aman Pal, 5, and Prince Pal, 3, this afternoon.



Sabita and Aman died after consuming the pesticide, while Prince is in a serious health condition, according to DSP Sitaram Rijal.



He has been taken to Birgunj for further treatment. The reason for the suicide is unknown.



Frustrated by poverty, a mother of six had poisoned three of her daughters and then committed suicide in Pipariya-3 of Sarlahi district on Sunday.



Gundra Devi, 30, mixed poison in a glass of water, made her three daughters drink it, and then consumed the poison herself in the evening. 



Gundra Devi and one of her daughters, Chandra Kumari, 10, succumbed to death while being taken to Sarlahi District Hospital, Malangawa. Bodies of the deceased mother and daughter have been kept at the district hospital in Sarlahi for post mortem.
