MoEST's minister hopes to provide loans against academic certificates soon

KATHMANDU, Sept 3: The Minister for Education, Science and Technology, Giriraj Mani Pokhrel said the ministry was working to introduce loan agaist a student's academic certificate, "hopefuly within the first quarter of the current fiscal year," Pokhrel said.

KATHMANDU, Sept 3: The Minister for Education, Science and Technology, Giriraj Mani Pokhrel said the ministry was working to introduce loan agaist a student's academic certificate, "hopefuly within the first quarter of the current fiscal year," Pokhrel said.



He added that the ministry had already prepared a list of sectors where students would be entitled for the lon. Furthermore, he added that the Ministry of Education as well as the Ministry of Finance would need to come on the same page and agree on set criteria to materialize implementation.

"The Ministry of Finance will have to play an important role to bring banks and financial institutions together for the same," he said in response to parliamentarians queries on the same in today's federal parliament's meet.
