Minister Ale concerned over budget cut for his ministry despite increase in size of budget for coming fiscal year

KATHMANDU, June 15: Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, Prem Bahadur Ale has complained to Finance Minister Janardan Sharma stating that the ministry's budget has been cut by Rs 10 billion.

KATHMANDU, June 15: Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, Prem Bahadur Ale has complained to Finance Minister Janardan Sharma stating that the ministry's budget has been cut by Rs 10 billion.



Speaking at a parliament meeting on Wednesday, Minister Ale said that he was sad after the budget cut resulted in the non-continuity of various programs being run in partnership with some local bodies, despite his repeated request to Minister Sharma.

He said that although the size of the budget increased by 9.8 percent, the budget allocated for his ministry was cut drastically and some of the programs to attract tourists could not be continued.
