Migration a big concern: Former prime minister Baburam Bhattarai

KATHMANDU, Aug 24: Speaking at a South Asian Regional Seminar organized jointly by St Xavier’s College, Kathmandu, and Indian Social Institute, Bangalore, in Kathmandu on Wednesday, Bhattarai said that involuntary or distress migration should be curbed.

KATHMANDU, Aug 24: Former Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai has said that migration has become one of the biggest concerns of the country. 



Speaking at a South Asian Regional Seminar organized jointly by St Xavier’s College, Kathmandu, and Indian Social Institute, Bangalore, in Kathmandu on Wednesday, Bhattarai said that involuntary or distress migration should be curbed.

“My motto is yes to voluntary migration and a big no to involuntary or distress migration,” the former prime minister said. 


Also speaking at the seminar, Principal of St Xavier’s College, Jiju Varghese, SJ, said that migration problem should be resolved by giving utmost priority.
