KATHMANDU, April 10: Bharat Kumar Thapa, the mayor of Bagmati Municipality in Sarlahi, is facing corruption allegations after a case was lodged against him.
The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) has filed a case against Thapa at the Special Court on Wednesday.

The CIAA filed a case against Thapa at the Special Court accusing him of illegally accumulating Rs 53.33 million.
The CIAA has demanded both fines and imprisonment for him. The CIAA confirmed that the charges against him fall under Section 20 (1) of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 2059.
