Man who burned wife to death arrested after 17 yrs

KATHMANDU, June 26: Police have arrested a man on the charge of burning her wife to death seventeen years after the incident.

KATHMANDU, June 26: Police have arrested a man on the charge of burning her wife to death seventeen years after the incident.



A team from Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) nabbed Nawaraj Shrestha aka Nawaraj Nagarkoti from Koteshwor.



According to police, Shrestha who was sentenced to life with confiscation of property by Lalitpur Appellate Court had got married for the second time after returning from Malaysia.



SP Dinesh Lohani said that Shrestha was living after changing his name and location.



Shrestha had set his better half Rina Shrestha on fire on December 31, 1991.



Seriously injured Rina had breathed her last while receiving treatment at Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital (TUTH) in Maharajgunj.

 

Shrestha has been sent to Dillibazaar Jail after he was presented before the court.
