Man beaten to death, three injured

PANCHTHAR July 5: One person died and three others were injured due to beating by unknown persons in Panchthar district.



According to the District Police Office, Dinesh Kumar Rai, 37, of Phidim Municipality-14 died due to beating.

Dinesh along with Parshu Rai, Dhruba Rai and Pushkar BK, who had gone to see witchcraft at the house of Dhan Kumar Rai, were beaten by a group of 15-20 people last night.


Binalal Sah Teli, information officer of the District Police Office, said that Dinesh died during treatment on Friday morning.


The injured, Dhruba and Puskar have been discharged from the hospital after treatment. Police said that the identity of the Person involved in the beating is yet to be ascertained.


Police teams from Ranitar and Pauwa Sartap police stations, led by a police inspector, have been deployed to conduct search operations to locate the suspects.
