Local government provides relief to the families of those killed in the landslide

BAITADI, Oct 26: Shivnath Rural Municipality has distributed relief to the families of those killed in the landslide. Chairman Karna Singh Saund said that cash relief has been distributed to the families of those who died in a landslide on October 19.

BAITADI, Oct 26: Shivnath Rural Municipality has distributed relief to the families of those killed in the landslide. Chairman Karna Singh Saund said that cash relief has been distributed to the families of those who died in a landslide on October 19.



The families of Bhanu Parki, Devan Parki and Pavitra Parki have been provided a check of Rs. 150,000 in cash at the rate of Rs. 50,000 for each person killed. The rural municipality has stated that the relief has been provided as per the decision of the village level disaster management committee.

Similarly, food items were distributed to the victim's family on behalf of the municipality. Earlier, the District Disaster Management Committee had also distributed relief to the families of those killed in the landslide. A team led by Acting Chief District Officer Khagendra Bharti reached the victim's house and provided Rs. 120,000 to perform last rites.


According to police, four people have been killed, two injured and one missing, while nine houses have been completely damaged and 13 houses have been partially damaged, leaving 31 livestock dead. Similarly, 2,700 hectares of paddy and other crops have been destroyed, according to the District Disaster Management Committee.
