KATHMANDU, Sept 17: The country will experience significant changes in weather in different parts of the country today. The Meteorological Forecast Division (MFD) under the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology (DHM) said that the Monsoon low pressure line is currently located to the southern part closer to Nepal with partial effect of the low-pressure system of Punjab and surrounding areas of India in Nepal.
The officials of MFD said that there will be partial to general rainfall across the country this afternoon. The officials also informed Republica that there is a possibility of light to moderate rain with thunder/lightning in some places in the hilly terrains and other provinces including Sudurpaschim, Lumbini and Karnali provinces as well as at one or two places in the rest of the country.
Light rainfall likely in parts of Nepal today
There will be partly cloudy skies across the country tonight. It is said there is a possibility of light to moderate rain with thunder/lightning at few places in Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces and at one or two places in the remaining provinces.
The DHM has also requested everyone to avoid possible weather-risks, especially in various hilly regions of the country.
