KATHMANDU, June 4: Lawmakers have demanded correction in recent vacancy announced by the Public Service Commission, saying it was against constitution and principle of proportional inclusive representation.

Lawmakers participating in the zero hour of today's meeting of the House of Representatives raised question why the PSC announced vacancy for 9,961 employees from the center by snatching rights of local levels and states.

Demanding to make arrangement to announce vacancy at local and state levels through State Public Service Commission, they blamed that the incumbent has failed to carry out activities as per the sentiments of the constitution.

On the occasion, Ramshahaya Prasad Saha of Socialist Party Nepal said that question has been raised on the responsibility and relevance of the Public Service Commission.

He said, "PSC is a constitutional body, not the subordinate body of the government. It should carry out activities as per the sentiments and aspirations of the constitution. The recent vacancy announced by PSC has neglected the concept of proportional inclusive representation. So the vacancy advertisement should be corrected immediately."

Saying all citizens have not got equal rights, the lawmakers drew government's attention not to repeat the previous trend of employees of going for foreign trip to spend the budget in the last hour of fiscal year.

They also suggested to hold discussion with UK government in order to address the demands raised by ex-Gurkha army during upcoming Europe visit of the Prime Minister.

Lawmakers-- Pramod Saha, Dr Minendra Rijal, Laxmanlal Karna, among others put forth their views in the meeting. ---
