Korean citizen found dead in Everest region

KATHMANDU, March 15:  A Korean citizen who had come to visit the Everest region has fallen down and died.

KATHMANDU, March 15:  A Korean citizen who had come to visit the Everest region has fallen down and died.



According to the District Police Office, the deceased has been identified as 47-year-old Hyunchal Swang from Korea.

According to Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Deepak Shrestha, the Korean national fell down and died on March 11 in Khumbu Pasang Lhamu Rural Municipality-4 while returning from climbing the Olympic mountain. According to the police, Hyunchal slipped from the road and fell down about two meters.


DSP Shrestha mentioned that the body of the deceased, who was rescued by a helicopter and brought to Lukla, has been sent to Kathmandu Teaching Hospital for autopsy after completing the legal process.


It is said that the deceased Swang had come to Khumbu for mountain climbing through Atex Company on March 4.
