KATHMANDU, Nov 5: Traffic personnel continue to reduce heavy traffic congestion in many parts of Kathmandu's roads today.

Vehicles are moving at a snail's pace around New Road, Kathmandu Mall, Ratna Park, Maitighar, Jamal, Lazimpat, Lainchaur and Putali Sadak, largely due to three major events: Tihar shopping, tea-party event hosted by Vice President's Office at Bahadur Bhawan, president's motorcade and final tribute to Padma Ratna Tuladhar, according to the Metropolitan Traffic Police Division.
To avoid traffic congestion, police have suggested to use alternate routes. "This will take a while," the MTPD said adding that the traffic jam had been there since today afternoon.
