Kathmandu’s garbage collection to resume

KATHMANDU, April 2: The obstruction in the management of the waste produced in the Kathmandu Valley is to be removed following talks between the Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) and the locals of Sisdol of Nuwakot amidst the presence of the local people’s representatives.

KATHMANDU, April 2: The obstruction in the management of the waste produced in the Kathmandu Valley is to be removed following talks between the Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) and the locals of Sisdol of Nuwakot amidst the presence of the local people’s representatives.

The residents nearby the Sisdol Landfill Site, who had been staging protest and obstructing the waste management since March 26, agreed to allow the disposal of the garbage produced from the Valley following the commitment made by Bidya Sundar Shakya, the mayor of KMC. 


Mayor Shakya on Friday committed to fulfilling the ‘affirmative demands’ raised by the locals of the affected area.
