Japan provides Rs 9.5 million for Dhanusha school

KATHMANDU, Dec 28: The Government of Japan has pledged to provide Rs 9.5 million in assistance to build the classrooms of Basudev Das Rastriya Basic School at Lagma in Nagarain Municipality, Dhanusha.

KATHMANDU, Dec 28: The Government of Japan has pledged to provide Rs 9.5 million in assistance to build the classrooms of Basudev Das Rastriya Basic School at Lagma in Nagarain Municipality, Dhanusha. 



Ambassador of Japan to Nepal Masamichi Saigo and Chairman of Bikash Foundation Shyam Sundar Chaudhary signed a grant contract for the construction of classrooms for Shree Basudev Das School on Thursday. The total grant assistance is USD 87,685 (approximately NPR 9.5 million), according to a press statement released by the Embassy of Japan, Kathmandu.

The project will support the construction of new classrooms for the students of class one to three. Currently, the school has 425 students from early child development level to class six. 


The Embassy of Japan has hoped that this project will contribute to improve the learning environment of the school and enhance the quality of education for the children of the Terai Region. The Embassy also hopes the assistance will strengthen the bilateral relationship between Japan and Nepal, according to the press statement.
