Mahato calls for banning extraction of Chure range

RAUTAHAT, July 22: Leader of Rashtriya Janata Party Rajendra Mahato has stressed the need for banning excessive extraction of the Chure range for natural resources.

RAUTAHAT, July 22: Leader of Rashtriya Janata Party Rajendra Mahato has stressed the need for banning excessive extraction of the Chure range for natural resources.



Addressing an event in Rautahat, Mahato pointed out that Madhes witnesses the massive flooding because of excessive extraction of natural resources every year during the monsoon.


"We have to prevent Madhesh region from the monsoon-induced disasters. Hence, we need to ban excessive exploitation of natural resources," he said.

Nepal and India should work closely to find a solution to resolve the issue of inundation in bordering areas, he said.


He accused the government of not paying attention to control floods in Terai region. "Scores of villages have been inundated due to floods in Lal Bakaiya River. But the government has not paid attention to repair it. Is not it the government's sheer negligence?" he questioned.


Mahato stressed the need for controlling floods in rivers flowing into India.
