KATHMANDU, June 3: Internet users across Nepal experienced slow speeds due to problems with Airtel's network. Airtel, which supplies a significant portion of Nepal's bandwidth, faced routing issues that impacted internet services throughout the country.

Service providers like Worldlink and Vianet reported widespread complaints from users about slow internet speeds. Binay Bohra, managing director of Vianet, confirmed that the slowdown was due to Airtel's network issues, with signal fluctuations affecting internet connectivity.

"There is a problem with Airtel's network. The signal is going up and down. That is why there is a problem with the internet in Nepal. We have received information that there is a problem with Airtel's routing. They are trying to solve the problem," said Bohra.

This isn't the first incident affecting Nepal's internet services. On May 24, services of internet providers, including Worldlink, were disrupted when fiber optics from Airtel and other providers were cut in Sunauli, India. Airtel remains a major supplier of bandwidth to Nepal, making its network stability crucial for the country's internet infrastructure.
