Kathmandu, Oct 11: International Day of the Girl Child is being observed across the globe including in Nepal today by organizing various programs.
The theme of the Day for this year is "Invest in Girls' Rights: Our Leadership, Our Well-being". The Day is observed annually. Various programs on the themes of empowerment of girls, their leadership development, and security have been scheduled in Nepal to observe the Day.

On the occasion of the Day, the Children as Zone of Peace National Campaign (CZOP) facilitated a program on the girls' takeover in the governance sector. According to Campaign General Secretary Tilottam Poudel, an interaction program on the rights of girls was also organized.
