India builds school in Kathmandu

KATHMANDU, Sept 29: Deputy Chief of Mission of the Indian Embassy in Kathmandu, Dr Ajay Kumar, inaugurated the building of Kuleshwar Awas Secondary School in Kathmandu Metropolitan City-14.

KATHMANDU, Sept 29: Deputy Chief of Mission of the Indian Embassy in Kathmandu, Dr Ajay Kumar, inaugurated the building of Kuleshwar Awas Secondary School in Kathmandu Metropolitan City-14.



“Chairperson of the District Coordination Committee, Shiva Sundar Raj Vaidya, Ward Chairperson Shova Sapkota and District Coordination Officer, Pitamber Adhikari along with the political and community leaders participated in the inaugural ceremony,” said the embassy in a statement issued on Saturday.

Kuleshwar Awas Secondary School, established in 1989 by Kuleshwar Awas Pariwar Kalyan Sanstha, is run with community support. At present, over 800 students are enrolled in the school and over 50 percent of them are girls, according to the statement.


“The new school building constructed with the Government of India's grant assistance of Rs 38.60 million, is a three-story building comprising 20 class rooms, separate sanitation facilities for boys and girls on each floor, an underground water tank, a septic tank and furniture,” it said.
