KATHMANDU, March 10: The general strike imposed by Federal Alliance has significantly affected the normal lives throughout the country.



In the Terai region, the impact of strike has been more significant than in other parts of the country.  In the Terai districts,  the shops, schools and colleges are completely closed due to the strike. Long route vehicles are not  moving. Only rickshaws and motor bikes are seen moving.

No serious incident has occurred yet.


The Federal Alliance has called this general strike in protest of the Saptari incident which led to the death of four UDMF cadres on Monday. While UDMF cadres were demonstrating against the Mechi-Mahakali national campaign of CPN(UML)  on Monday, the security personnel had opened fire at them.
