KATHMANDU, April 27: The Investment Board Nepal (IBN) on Thursday signed an agreement with Dabur Nepal, paving a way to the multinational company to inject additional investments of Rs 9.68 billion in its projects.
The investment from Dabur Nepal will be used as a reinvestment on capacity building and construction, operation and management of its product diversification projects. The IBN’s Chief Executive Officer Sushil Bhatta and Dabur Nepal’s Business Head Harkirat Singh Bedi, inked a memorandum of understanding to this effect.

Earlier on February 8, the IBN gave go ahead to Dabur Nepal to invest the aforementioned amount in the company’s production plants in Nepal. The company has been targeting to expand its capacity mainly in production of beverages including fruit juice.
Dabur Nepal holds 97.5 percent share of Dabur International Limited while the remaining 2.5 percent share is held by Nepali investor Rukma Shumsher Rana. The products of Dabur Nepal hold a 5.34 percent share in the country’s total export earnings.
