I’ve fallen many times but risen again after shaking the dust off my clothes: Sthapit

KATHMANDU, May 27: Keshav Sthapit, a candidate for the post of mayor of Kathmandu Metropolitan City from the CPN-UML, has congratulated Balendra Shah and Sunita Dangol, the elected mayor and deputy mayor, respectively, of KMC.

KATHMANDU, May 27: Keshav Sthapit, a candidate for the post of mayor of Kathmandu Metropolitan City from the CPN-UML, has congratulated Balendra Shah and Sunita Dangol, the elected mayor and deputy mayor, respectively, of KMC.



He thanked all the voters and said, "I would like to extend my best wishes to Balen Shah, who has been elected as the mayor of Kathmandu Metropolitan City. I expect that you will respect every vote that the people of Kathmandu have put in the ballot box, trusting you and work accordingly.”

"I am a person who has fallen many times but risen again after shaking the dust off my clothes. Therefore, in this democratic exercise, I have taken my defeat easy,” Sthapit said. "My aspiration to work as a servant of the people did not succeed this time. However, my aspirations for development and prosperity have not diminished in the slightest despite the election results.”
