On the occasion of Republic Day, Lamichhane stated that this initiative is a small effort to support female traffic police personnel. In a written statement, he said, "From now on, female traffic police personnel will not have to perform duties on the road for four days during their menstrual period. Additionally, those who violate traffic rules, including drunk driving, will volunteer to assist the traffic police on the road."
