LAHAN, Nov 20: The diesel tanker which was hijacked from Lahan on Tuesday was found empty in Dhanusha on Wednesday morning. Police have recovered the tanker (Na 4a Kha 4163) from Ramdaiya of Kshireshwornath municipality-1.
According to the Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Bheshraj Rijal, the tanker was found to be parked along the roadside. “However, the tanker is empty. We are preparing to bring it to Lahan,” informed Rijal adding, “We’ll launch an investigation into it.”

According to Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC), the hijackers blindfolded and kidnapped the driver Ramdev Yadav and his assistant Umesh Yadav. The hijackers, then, left them in a jungle between Lalbandi and Bardibas and took the tanker with 20,000 liters of diesel away.
“This incident seems mysterious and well-planned. It may not only be the case of kidnapping and hijacking,” said DSP Rijal.
According to Birendra Goit, spokesperson for Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC), the diesel is valued at Rs 1.9 million. “The state-owned oil monopoly has formed a four-member probe committee led by Ashok Shah, Provincial 1 chief of NOC, to investigate the incident.
