'Highway Trauma Mobile Hospital' in Gandaki Province

POKHARA, Feb 25: The Gandaki Province government has decided to develop three hospitals in its three districts as 'Highway Trauma Mobile Hospitals' -- which will immediately provide medical services to the injured ones in road accidents in Highways.

POKHARA, Feb 25: The Gandaki Province government has decided to develop three hospitals in its three districts as 'Highway Trauma Mobile Hospitals' -- which will immediately provide medical services to the injured ones in road accidents in Highways. 



In the first phase, Damauli Hospital at Tanahu, Primary Health Post at Waling, Syangja and Tilar Health Centre at Dimuwa, Parbat would be developed into mobile hospitals, according to Information Officer at the Ministry of Social Development of Gandaki Province, Prakash Raj Sharma. The Ministry of Social Development has allocated Rs 15.5 million for this project.

Around 2,000 people die and around 4,000 sustain critical injuries every year in Nepal. 



An MBBS doctor, a nurse and a health assistant will be deployed in equipped ambulances fitted with GPS.
