Grocery stores to remain closed for a week

KATHMANDU, May 27: The district administration offices in the Kathmandu valley have decided to shut down grocery and food shops for a week, claiming that the crowd of people at shops has further spread the infection of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) disease.

KATHMANDU, May 27: The district administration offices in the Kathmandu valley have decided to shut down grocery and food shops for a week, claiming that the crowd of people at shops has further spread the infection of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) disease. 



The decision was made on Tuesday over a meeting by the chief district officers of Kathmandu, Lalitpur, and Bhaktapur to extend the prohibitory order by a week inside the valley.

The citizens have been told to purchase essentials enough for a week until 9AM on May 27. The grocery stores will be completely shut from Thursday. Vegetables, milk, and meat shops will be allowed to open till 9AM only.
